These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the GribStream API and related services ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
GribStream provides API access to weather model, forecast, analysis, and related data ("Data") on a best-effort basis. The Service includes API endpoints, documentation, dashboard tools, and related account and billing functionality.
The Service is intended to help users retrieve and work with weather data more easily. It does not replace official weather services, upstream data providers, or your own validation and risk controls.
To use the Service, you must create an account and authenticate using an accepted authentication provider, such as Google or GitHub. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity that occurs under your account.
By using the API, you agree to follow the usage guidelines and quotas specified in the Service documentation. Misuse of the API, including attempts to bypass quota limits or engage in prohibited activities, may result in the suspension or termination of your access to the Service.
GribStream depends on data published by third-party and public upstream providers, including government and research organizations. GribStream does not control those providers and does not have a contract requiring them to publish, maintain, correct, or continue providing any dataset.
Data may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, corrected, reprocessed, re-indexed, modified, or removed over time. Model outputs and forecasts are inherently uncertain. GribStream does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, continuity, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose of any Data, metadata, timestamp, model run, forecast horizon, API response, or derived result.
API parameters, including asOf, define GribStream query behavior. They do not guarantee that Data was available through the live API at any specific historical wall-clock time unless expressly agreed in a separate written agreement.
You are responsible for validating all outputs and for deciding whether the Service is appropriate for your use case, including backtesting, model training, operational workflows, commercial decisions, or any other decision-support use. You are also responsible for applying any assumptions, buffers, or controls needed to avoid look-ahead bias or other data-quality issues.
You must not rely on the Service as the sole source for safety-of-life, emergency, aviation, medical, legal, financial, regulated, or similarly high-risk decisions. Consult official sources where required.
The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee continuous availability, uninterrupted access, or any particular latency, throughput, retention period, dataset coverage, or response time. Temporary interruptions may occur for maintenance, upgrades, upstream outages, provider changes, capacity limits, security events, or other operational reasons.
We collect and use personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. We may use third-party service providers to operate the Service, process authentication, process payments, deliver communications, monitor performance, or maintain security.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all Data are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. This includes any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, or reliability.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GribStream will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or other damages; any lost profit, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, replacement cost, model error, backtesting error, look-ahead bias, operational decision, commercial decision, or other consequence; or any claim, cost, or expense arising from or related to use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Service or any Data returned by the Service.
Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Service is to stop using the Service and, where applicable, request any refund available under these Terms.
Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and only for the then-current billing cycle or the specific charge at issue. Refunds are not available for prior billing cycles that have already ended, except where required by law.
Refund requests must be made within 7 days of the charge. Refunds may be granted where the Service was unavailable or severely limited due to technical issues, or where the Service materially failed to match its advertised features.
Refunds will not be issued for prior billing cycles, change of mind, unused quota, dissatisfaction after continued use over previous billing cycles, or issues caused by misuse, abusive traffic, incorrect requests, upstream data delays, upstream data errors, upstream outages, or other conditions outside GribStream's reasonable control.
Cancellation of a subscription stops future renewals but does not automatically entitle you to a refund for the current billing cycle. If a refund is approved, GribStream may revoke or reduce access associated with the refunded charge.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, an approved refund under this section is your sole remedy for paid Service issues.
To request a refund, contact us at info@gribstream.com within 7 days of the charge and include the account email, order or subscription reference if available, and a description of the issue.
All refund requests will be reviewed within 5 business days, and you will be notified of the decision.
We reserve the right to terminate, suspend, throttle, or limit your access to the Service at our discretion for any violation of these Terms, misuse or abuse of the API, security concerns, nonpayment, expired or canceled subscriptions, or other conduct that may harm GribStream, other users, or the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the Service after such changes will signify your acceptance of the new Terms.
If you have any questions regarding these Terms, please contact us at info@gribstream.com.
