ECMWF IFS ensemble and wave ensemble now available
IFS Enfo and IFS Waef are now on GribStream, providing 51-member ensembles for atmosphere and wave guidance.
On June 18, 2025, we added IFS Ensemble (IFS Enfo) and IFS Wave Ensemble (IFS Waef) datasets.
What you get
- 51-member ensembles (50 perturbed + 1 control) for atmosphere and waves.
- Global grids with four cycles per day (00/06/12/18 UTC).
- Forecasts out to 15 days for probabilistic guidance.
Why ensembles matter
Ensembles let you quantify uncertainty instead of relying on a single deterministic track. Typical workflows include:
- Probability of exceedance (wind, precipitation, wave height).
- Percentiles and spread for risk-aware planning.
- Scenario analysis for energy, aviation, marine, and hydrology.
