Description

CFS Isentropic fournit des champs du Climate Forecast System sur surfaces de température potentielle constante. Ces surfaces isentropiques aident à suivre transport de masses d'air et dynamique d'altitude sous un angle différent des niveaux de pression classiques.

Le dataset cfsipvf contient des champs comme vorticité potentielle, fonction de courant et lapse rate, c'est-à-dire le gradient thermique vertical. Ces signaux sont utiles pour jet-streams, talwegs, fronts, stabilité et couplages entre troposphère et basse stratosphère.

Dans GribStream, CFS Isentropic est utile quand une application a besoin de contexte dynamique à très long horizon sans télécharger des fichiers GRIB complets : planification aviation, diagnostics d'altitude, recherche ou comparaison avec les champs CFS Pressure.
