Current coverage: TPW, HT, and LST begin April 8, 2025. These are observation-derived analyses, not forecasts; forecasted_at and forecasted_time identify the same scan and horizon is 0.

Fixed-grid boundary: this dataset contains only the three product families published on NOAA's 1,086 by 1,086 grid. The related goes19abi dataset contains the 2 km products.

Availability and open data: new observations depend on NOAA's satellite feed, so maneuvers, calibration, outages, and product transitions can create gaps. NOAA data distributed through its Open Data program are available for public use; attribution is requested and NOAA endorsement must not be implied.

Description

This fixed-grid collection groups three complementary ABI retrievals. TPW describes column water vapor, HT estimates cloud-top altitude, and LST estimates clear-sky land-surface skin temperature.

The retrievals have different physical limits. Cloud screening, daylight, surface emissivity, atmospheric profiles, and viewing angle can affect availability and accuracy. Ground footprints and uncertainty grow toward the edge of the visible disk.

Use /api/v2/goes19abi10km/timeseries for point histories and /api/v2/goes19abi10km/runs for exact scan times or gridded extraction. The generated inventory below lists all three selectors.

Temporal coverage: Total precipitable water and cloud-top height are generally published at approximately 10-minute intervals. Land-surface temperature is hourly. Exact source scan times include seconds.

Primary uses: Atmospheric-moisture monitoring, tropical-cyclone and convection context, cloud-height estimation, land-temperature tracking, heat and drought analysis, and satellite-based gap filling outside dense surface networks.
