La météo australienne dans son contexte historique

La réanalyse régionale déterministe reconstruit le temps en Australie et dans les régions voisines à environ 12 km. BARRA-R2 appartient à la famille BARRA2 du Bureau of Meteorology, qui utilise les conditions aux limites d’ERA5 pour ajouter du détail régional. La réanalyse associe observations et modélisation physique ; les valeurs d’une maille sont des estimations, pas des mesures de station.

Ce que vous pouvez interroger

L’offre initiale GribStream comprend 28 champs horaires, de janvier 1992 à janvier 2026 : températures près de la surface et de surface, humidité, vent au sol et aux hauteurs des turbines, rafales, pression, précipitations, rayonnement solaire et de grande longueur d’onde, nuages, évaporation, CAPE et CIN. Les valeurs manquantes de la source restent manquantes.

Il s’agit de conditions historiques horaires à échéance de prévision nulle. BARRA2 n’est pas une prévision en temps réel ; les nouvelles données historiques peuvent être publiées avec un retard important. Les champs instantanés sont horodatés à l’heure entière ; les moyennes et extrêmes d’une heure au milieu de l’intervalle, à la demi-heure. L’inventaire les distingue avec 1h_mean, 1h_minimum et 1h_maximum. Les précipitations sont un taux ; le rayonnement solaire direct est celui d’une surface horizontale, pas l’irradiance directe normale. Les autres champs, fréquences et BARRA-RE2 sont exclus de cette offre initiale.

Questions auxquelles ce registre peut contribuer

Comparez les périodes chaudes et froides, reliez le temps à la demande énergétique, étudiez les ressources éoliennes et solaires ou replacez les pluies dans leur contexte historique. Évaluez la reconstruction avec des observations aux lieux pertinents. Une maille plus fine ne garantit pas, à elle seule, une meilleure précision.

Limites scientifiques et attribution

Consultez les problèmes connus du fournisseur, dont les effets aux bords du domaine. Les biais du modèle et des observations comptent pour les extrêmes locaux. Citez l’Australian Bureau of Meteorology sous CC BY 4.0 et conservez le produit et la version utilisés.

Comparez le produit BARRA2 complémentaire ou la réanalyse globale ERA5. L’inventaire ci-dessous définit les champs actuellement proposés par ce jeu de données.
