AIGFS Pressure is the upper-air product from NOAA/NCEP's operational Artificial Intelligence Global Forecast System. NOAA implemented AIGFS v1.0 on December 17, 2025, with AIGFS serving as the deterministic member of the operational AI global model family described in NWS Service Change Notice 25-89.
AIGFS is based on Google DeepMind's GraphCast model and was developed by NCEP with NOAA research laboratories and EPIC. NOAA/NCEP Office Note 521 describes the GraphCast-with-GDAS lineage: GDAS provides real-time initial conditions, and the learned model advances global atmospheric states through autoregressive forecast steps.
GribStream mirrors the NOMADS GRIB2 pressure files into private S3 storage, indexes the .idx byte ranges in ClickHouse, and exposes them through the same point, grid, /timeseries, and /runs API workflows used by GFS, GEFS, IFS, and GraphCast GFS.
The pressure-level feed carries wind components, temperature, geopotential height, specific humidity, and pressure vertical velocity across 13 standard levels: 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 850, 925, and 1000 mb.
