Description

HRRR (High-Resolution Rapid Refresh) est le modèle opérationnel NOAA/NCEP pour la prévision court terme haute résolution sur les États-Unis continentaux. Il est conçu pour les situations où orages, rotations de vent, nuages bas, brouillard, fumée ou autres détails locaux changent rapidement.

HRRR utilise la dynamique WRF-ARW à 3 km et représente explicitement la convection profonde, sans schéma convectif paramétré à l'échelle de la grille. Cela le rend utile pour phénomènes que des modèles plus grossiers lissent souvent.

Le système est initialisé chaque heure à partir d'analyses qui assimilent observations radar, satellite, surface, avion et air supérieur. L'assimilation radar fréquente est une raison clé pour laquelle HRRR est souvent utilisé pour suivi convectif et prévision immédiate.

Dans GribStream, hrrr expose les champs horaires HRRR sur la grille CONUS. Il convient aux produits qui ont besoin de données récentes, de détail spatial et d'un horizon de quelques heures à deux jours, sans télécharger les fichiers GRIB2 complets.

HRRR est une entrée importante pour NBM et a influencé le développement de RRFS. Pour des heures valides toutes les 15 minutes en surface, utilisez le dataset complémentaire HRRR Sub-hourly.
