FourCastNetGFS es un dataset experimental de pronóstico basado en IA publicado por NOAA.
El modelo se apoya en el marco FourCastNet desarrollado por NVIDIA y Microsoft, usando Fourier Neural Operators y deep learning para emular parte de la dinámica global de GFS.
El modelo de machine learning subyacente fue entrenado con datos históricos de reanálisis atmosférico. La versión publicada por NOAA inicializaba los pronósticos desde análisis GDAS y emitía productos GRIB2 comparables a GFS. Hoy conviene tratarlo como archivo histórico, no como una línea operativa actual.
En GribStream, fourcastnetgfs sigue siendo útil para comparar cómo una guía basada en Fourier Neural Operators se comportó frente a GFS, GraphCast, AIGFS y modelos físicos globales.
