Descrizione

ICON-D2 è il modello ad area limitata del DWD per il brevissimo termine sulla Germania e l'Europa centrale. Appartiene alla famiglia ICON e concentra il nucleo dinamico non idrostatico su un dominio regionale molto più fine.

Con circa 2,2 km, ICON-D2 permette di rappresentare più direttamente la convezione profonda. DWD evidenzia linee temporalesche, terreno complesso, nebbia al suolo, Foehn, venti discendenti e piogge da piena improvvisa. Ciò non garantisce la posizione esatta di ogni temporale.

Le condizioni iniziali provengono da KENDA, il sistema DWD di assimilazione dati a scala chilometrica. Il Local Ensemble Transform Kalman Filter combina osservazioni recenti e un ensemble a breve termine in un'analisi che varia con la situazione meteorologica.

Il prodotto copre Germania, Paesi Bassi, Belgio, Lussemburgo, Svizzera, Austria, Danimarca e parti di Francia, Italia, Cechia e Polonia. La matrice conta 906.390 celle, ma l'impronta valida si restringe ai bordi; le celle esterne vanno trattate come mancanti.

L'inventario icond2 unisce meteo di superficie, radiazione diretta e diffusa, precipitazioni, neve, deflusso e quota neve. SYNMSG_BT_CL_IR10.8 e SYNMSG_BT_CL_WV6.2 sono diagnostiche sintetiche del modello, non osservazioni satellitari.

ICON-D2 fornisce uno scenario deterministico di 48 h. La griglia fine dettaglia orografia, linee di convergenza e bande strette, ma piccoli errori spaziali o temporali restano importanti. Servono osservazioni, ensemble e modelli più ampi per incertezza esplicita o scadenze più lunghe.
