Startverfügbarkeit: ERA5 startet in GribStream mit Abdeckung ab dem 1. Januar 2020. Ältere Jahre können später ergänzt werden; das im Katalog/API sichtbare Archivfenster ist die aktuelle Referenz, solange der historische Backfill läuft.

ERA5T-Hinweis: GribStream behandelt derzeit Daten vor dem 1. April 2026 als finales ERA5. Neuere Daten können noch ERA5T sein, die vorläufige nahezu-echtzeitnahe Version, bis ECMWF/Copernicus sie finalisiert und ersetzt.

Beschreibung

ERA5 ist die fünfte Generation der globalen ECMWF-Reanalyse, produziert für den Copernicus Climate Change Service. Die offizielle Quelle reicht von Januar 1940 bis heute und liefert stündliche Schätzungen für Atmosphäre, Landoberfläche und weitere Klimavariablen.

Der wissenschaftliche Wert liegt darin, die Vergangenheit mit einem festen Modell- und Assimilationssystem neu zu analysieren. Beobachtungen werden mit Modellphysik kombiniert, sodass vollständige Gitterfelder entstehen, die homogener sind als eine Reihe aus vielen operativen Modellgenerationen.

ERA5 ersetzt keine einzelne Wetterstation. Es ist eine räumlich vollständige Referenz für Verifikation und Analyse; für jüngste Daten ist zu beachten, dass sie zunächst als ERA5T erscheinen und später finalisiert werden.

In GribStream wird era5 als Ist-Wert nach gültiger Zeit bereitgestellt: forecasted_at und forecasted_time bezeichnen denselben Zeitpunkt, mit horizon = 0 und member = 0. Damit bleibt die API-Struktur dieselbe wie bei Vorhersagedatasets.

Einige akkumulierte oder flussartige ERA5-Felder, etwa Niederschlag und Strahlung, stammen im ECMWF-Quellarchiv aus kurzen Vorhersageschritten. GribStream behält die ECMWF-shortNames bei und stellt jedes Feld nach gültiger Zeit bereit, damit es sauber mit Vorhersagen verbunden werden kann, ohne die Parametermetadaten umzudeuten.

Die erste Kopie nutzt GRIB2-Dateien pro Variable für eine zentrale Auswahl von 17 Einzellevel-Feldern. Diese Struktur lässt später weitere ERA5-Parameter zu, ohne vorhandene Selektoren oder bereits veröffentlichte Indexobjekte umzubauen.

ERA5 passt besonders gut zu IFS Oper, IFS ENS und AIFS Oper, wenn Sie Vorhersagen gegen eine konsistente historische Referenz vergleichen wollen.
